Base Stats

Wyrdeer is built around 103 HP and even 105/105 offenses, giving it the bulk to make Intimidate stick and the flexibility to attack physically or specially. Its defenses (72/75) are average, so the HP does the heavy lifting. At 65 Speed it is comfortably slow, which makes it an excellent Trick Room attacker as well as a turn-one Intimidate body.

Abilities

  • Intimidate — lowers both opponents' Attack on switch-in. One of the most valuable doubles abilities, and the main reason to run Wyrdeer.
  • Sap Sipper — absorbs Grass-type moves for an Attack boost and Grass immunity. Excellent into Spore, Rage Powder and Grass spread attackers; can soak a partner's Grass move for a free boost in doubles.
  • Frisk — reveals an opponent's held item; minor utility, rarely chosen over the other two.

Best Moveset

Wyrdeer's pool blends support, speed control and coverage. The standout Regulation M-A options:

Bulky Intimidate support

  • Trick Room — Wyrdeer's slow Speed makes it a strong room-setter for the team.
  • Helping Hand — boost a partner's attack the turn after Intimidate softens the foes.
  • Thunder Wave — spread paralysis for additional speed control.
  • Protect — doubles staple for scouting and safety.

Offensive set

  • Psychic or Expanding Force — Psychic STAB; Expanding Force hits both foes and is boosted on Psychic Terrain.
  • Earthquake / High Horsepower / Earth Power — Ground coverage for the Steel and Poison types Psychic struggles with.
  • Zen Headbutt + Throat Chop — physical STAB plus a sound-move-blocking coverage hit.
  • Calm Mind — special boost if you want a bulky setup angle.

It also has Shadow Ball, Energy Ball, Thunderbolt, Hypnosis, Stored Power, Light Screen, Reflect, Substitute and Tera Blast.

Suggested SP Spread

With the Champions SP system (66 points, max 32 per stat), a support Wyrdeer wants HP and a defensive stat to maximise survivability behind Intimidate, with a defensive Stat Alignment. An offensive build can lean into Attack or Special Attack instead. Tune the final numbers in the PikaChampions team builder.

Competitive Role in Regulation M-A

Wyrdeer is a low-maintenance support glue Pokemon. Intimidate plus 103 HP lets it pivot in repeatedly to cut the opposing side's physical damage, and its slow Speed means it can set Trick Room or fire off Expanding Force under it without needing extra speed control. Sap Sipper is what separates it from generic Intimidate bodies: it walls Grass attackers, ignores Spore and Rage Powder strategies, and can even sit next to a Grass partner to absorb a friendly move for a free Attack boost. It will not win games on raw stats, but its blend of damage reduction, immunity coverage and speed control makes it a reliable backbone for Trick Room and bulky balance teams alike.

Evolution Line

Stantler → Wyrdeer (use the move Psyshield Bash 20 times in Agile Style, the Legends: Arceus method). Wyrdeer does not Mega Evolve.
