Vivillon in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Best Moveset & How to Get
Vivillon is a fragile but disruptive Bug/Flying special attacker in Pokemon Champions, best known for pairing Compound Eyes with Sleep Powder to land near-guaranteed sleep on an opposing threat. With Quiver Dance and dual STAB spread moves, it doubles as a special sweeper once the field is softened. This guide covers Vivillon's stats, type matchups, best moveset, an SP spread, its role in Regulation M-A doubles, and how to get it.
Base Stats
Vivillon's stats are tilted toward offense and utility: 90 Special Attack and 89 Speed are its working numbers, supported by 80 HP. Its defenses are poor (50/50), so it cannot afford to take much. The combination of decent Speed and a strong special attack means it can throw out spread moves or Sleep Powder before slower foes act, but a single super-effective hit usually ends it.

Type Matchups
Abilities
- Shield Dust — blocks the added effects of attacks (flinch, burn chance, etc.); a niche defensive ability.
- Compound Eyes — raises move accuracy by 30%. This is the signature pick: it turns Sleep Powder (75% base) into a near-certain hit, making Vivillon one of the most reliable sleep-inducers in the format.
- Friend Guard — reduces damage taken by allies in doubles; a genuine support option on bulkier teams.
Best Moveset
Vivillon's two main jobs are disruption and sweeping:
Compound Eyes disruptor
- Sleep Powder — with Compound Eyes this is effectively accurate; sleeping a key threat at the open can decide the game.
- Bug Buzz / Hurricane — dual STAB; Hurricane's accuracy also benefits from Compound Eyes.
- Tailwind — extra speed support for the team.
- Protect — doubles staple while a partner does work.
Quiver Dance sweeper
- Quiver Dance — boosts Special Attack, Special Defense and Speed at once.
- Bug Buzz + Hurricane — boosted STAB.
- Energy Ball or Giga Drain — coverage and recovery.
Other tools include Air Slash, Psychic, Calm Mind, Roost, Light Screen, U-turn, Weather Ball and Tera Blast.
Suggested SP Spread
With the Champions SP system (66 points, max 32 per stat), Vivillon wants Speed and Special Attack: outrun the relevant tier so Sleep Powder lands first, then top up Special Attack with a Speed- or SpA-boosting Stat Alignment. A little HP helps it survive one hit to keep clicking. Tune the exact Level 50 stats in the PikaChampions team builder.
Competitive Role in Regulation M-A
Vivillon's niche in Regulation M-A doubles is reliable sleep. Compound Eyes Sleep Powder removes an opposing Pokemon from the game for several turns with almost no risk of a miss, which is enormous tempo for an offensive team. Behind a redirection partner like a Follow Me user, it can fire Sleep Powder safely and then transition into a Quiver Dance sweep or spread Hurricane/Bug Buzz pressure. Its paper-thin bulk is the catch — it must land its disruption and either pivot out or snowball before it gets revenge-killed. Friend Guard also gives it a quieter support identity on bulkier cores.
Evolution Line
