Typhlosion in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Hisuian Form & How to Get
Typhlosion is a fast special Fire attacker in Pokemon Champions with a strong 109 Special Attack and 100 Speed. It comes in two forms: the classic Johto Fire type, and Hisuian Typhlosion, a Fire/Ghost variant with the Frisk ability and even higher Special Attack. This guide covers both forms, plus stats, matchups, best moveset, an SP spread and how to get it.
Base Stats
The Johto form has 109 Special Attack and 100 Speed; Hisuian Typhlosion trades a little HP and Speed for a higher 119 Special Attack and a Ghost secondary type. Both are fast special attackers that prefer to fire off a strong move and pivot rather than tank hits.

Type Matchups
Abilities
- Blaze — boosts Fire moves at low HP (both forms).
- Flash Fire (Johto) — absorbs Fire moves for a boost.
- Frisk (Hisuian) — reveals the opponent's held item.
Best Moveset
Fast special attacker
- Eruption — devastating Fire STAB at full HP (pairs with sun and a fast lead).
- Heat Wave — spread Fire STAB.
- Focus Blast — coverage for Rock/Steel/Dark.
- Protect — staple. Hisuian Typhlosion adds Ghost STAB (Shadow Ball / Infernal Parade).
It can also run Flamethrower, Scorching Sands, Will-O-Wisp and Helping Hand.
Suggested SP Spread
With the SP system, Typhlosion wants Special Attack and Speed with an offensive Stat Alignment. If running Eruption, keep its HP high to maximise the move's power. Tune it in the team builder.
Competitive Role in Regulation M-A
Typhlosion is a fast special Fire attacker. The Johto form thrives on sun teams where Eruption and Heat Wave hit brutally hard, while Hisuian Typhlosion offers a Fire/Ghost profile with useful Normal and Fighting immunities and a second STAB. Both are frail and lean on speed and support, making them strong offensive picks rather than durable ones.
Evolution Line
Cyndaquil → Quilava → Typhlosion (Level 36). Evolving a Hisuian Cyndaquil line yields Hisuian Typhlosion. Typhlosion does not Mega Evolve.
How to Get Typhlosion in Pokemon Champions
- Evolve Cyndaquil — Cyndaquil evolves into Quilava, then into Typhlosion at Level 36 (the Hisuian line yields Hisuian Typhlosion).
- Roster Ranch recruitment — available during the Regulation M-A season (around April–June 2026); recruitable with Teammate Tickets.
- Transfer via Pokemon HOME — move a Typhlosion from another title into Pokemon Champions.
