Slurpuff in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Best Moveset & How to Get
Slurpuff is a setup-sweeping Fairy-type in Pokemon Champions with one of the scariest snowball patterns in the game thanks to Unburden. Consume its held item and Slurpuff's Speed doubles, vaulting a modest 72 base into the top of the speed tiers and turning a single boost into a runaway sweep. This guide covers Slurpuff's stats, type matchups, best moves, an SP spread, its role in Regulation M-A doubles, and how to get it.
Base Stats
Slurpuff's spread is well-rounded — 82 HP and 86 Defense give it enough bulk to survive a turn, while 80 Attack and 85 Special Attack let it run either physical or special sets. The key stat is the 72 Speed, which is unremarkable on its own but doubles the instant Unburden triggers, making everything else on this line a setup engine rather than a raw stat check.
| Form | HP | Atk | Def | SpA | SpD | Spe | BST |

Abilities
- Unburden — doubles Slurpuff's Speed once its held item is used up or removed. This is the entire build-around: pop a consumable (a held berry, a one-time boost item) and Slurpuff suddenly outruns the field, converting a setup turn into a sweep.
- Sweet Veil — protects Slurpuff and its allies from sleep, a niche but real support option on bulkier builds.
Best Moveset
Slurpuff is a setup sweeper that wants one free turn, then races past the team.
Unburden setup sweeper
- Calm Mind — boost Special Attack and Special Defense; once Unburden flips the Speed, the boost is hard to outrace.
- Dazzling Gleam — spread Fairy STAB to pressure both opponents at once.
- Play Rough — strong single-target Fairy STAB for a physical-leaning set.
- Protect — stall a turn to let a partner remove a target or to bait out an attack before committing.
Coverage and utility options include Drain Punch for recovery and Steel/Dark answers, Flamethrower and Energy Ball for coverage, Thunderbolt / Thunder, Psychic, Surf, Light Screen, Helping Hand and Substitute.
Suggested SP Spread
With the Champions SP system (66 points, max 32 per stat), Slurpuff wants to maximise the attacking stat for its chosen set (Special Attack for the Calm Mind build) and just enough bulk to survive the turn it needs to set up — Unburden supplies the Speed, so points spent there are largely wasted. A Special Attack or HP-boosting Stat Alignment fits. Dial it in with the team builder.
Competitive Role in Regulation M-A
Slurpuff is a high-risk, high-reward setup sweeper. Its game plan is simple but lethal: survive long enough to use a consumable item, let Unburden double its Speed, and then snowball with Calm Mind boosts behind STAB Dazzling Gleam. In doubles it leans on partners — redirection or a Fake Out to buy the setup turn, or a teammate to remove the opposing threat that would otherwise revenge-kill it before the boost lands. Outside of that one-turn window it is a fairly ordinary Fairy, so its value lives entirely in getting Unburden online; once it does, few teams have the priority or speed to stop it.
