Skarmory in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Best Moveset, Mega & How to Get

Skarmory is the format's premier physical wall in Pokemon Champions, a Steel/Flying defensive pivot that sets hazards, removes them, and refuses to die thanks to Sturdy and Roost. Mega Skarmory flips the script with Stalwart, trading some bulk for a genuine offensive presence and a much higher Speed. This guide covers Skarmory's stats, type matchups, best moves, an SP spread, its role in Regulation M-A doubles, and how to get it.

Base Stats

Base Skarmory's calling card is 140 Defense behind 65/70 HP and Special Defense, with a serviceable 70 Speed and only 80 Attack. Mega Skarmory rebalances entirely: Attack jumps to 140, Special Defense to 100, and Speed to a fast 110, but Defense drops to 110. The base form is the wall; the Mega is a fast physical attacker that keeps the same superb typing.

Abilities

  • Keen Eye (Skarmory) — prevents accuracy drops. Niche.
  • Sturdy (Skarmory) — guarantees it survives any single hit from full HP, the key defensive ability that lets it always set a hazard or Roost before fainting.
  • Weak Armor (Skarmory) — drops Defense but boosts Speed when hit physically; an offensive option that suits a more aggressive build.
  • Stalwart (Mega Skarmory) — ignores redirection and ability-based target switching, so its attacks always strike the intended foe even through Follow Me.

Best Moveset

Skarmory is mostly support, but the Mega adds offense. For Regulation M-A doubles:

Defensive support

  • Stealth Rock or Spikes — chip hazards that wear down switch-ins.
  • Roost — reliable recovery to keep the wall standing.
  • Body Press-style Defense scaling isn't available, so lean on Iron Head for STAB damage.
  • Tailwind or Defog — speed control or hazard removal for the team.

Mega offensive pivot

  • Brave Bird — strong Flying STAB off the Mega's 140 Attack and 110 Speed.
  • Iron Head — Steel STAB with a flinch chance.
  • Swords Dance — turns Mega Skarmory into a sweeper that Stalwart lets hit through redirection.
  • Protect — doubles safety.

Other tools include Air Slash, Hurricane, Flash Cannon, Taunt, Whirlwind, Icy Wind, and Tera Blast.

Suggested SP Spread

With the Champions SP system (66 points, max 32 per stat), Skarmory's spread depends on the role:

  • Physical wall: max HP, then Special Defense to patch its weaker side, with a defensive Stat Alignment that lowers Attack or Speed.
  • Mega attacker: Attack and Speed to exploit the Mega's 140/110, with an offensive Alignment and Stalwart guaranteeing the hit lands.

Competitive Role in Regulation M-A

Skarmory is the format's textbook physical wall and hazard pivot. Steel/Flying is a fantastic defensive typing — it grants an immunity to Ground and resistances to a huge swath of common attacks — and Sturdy guarantees it always gets a turn to set Stealth Rock, Spikes, or Roost before it can be removed. In doubles it earns its slot as a glue Pokemon: it supports the team with Tailwind or Defog, pivots in on physical threats it walls cold, and keeps chip damage ticking. The Mega is a different package — Stalwart makes it a redirection-proof offensive threat that punishes Follow Me cores, giving you a wall and a win condition packed into one slot depending on how you build it.

Evolution Line

Skarmory does not evolve. It Mega Evolves by holding Skarmorite.
