• Torrent — boosts Water moves by 50% below one third HP. A passive late-game power spike rather than a build-around.
• Liquid Voice — turns all of Primarina's sound-based moves into Water-type, most importantly making Hyper Voice a 90-power spread Water STAB. This is the headline ability: a Water-type Hyper Voice hits both opponents and ignores Substitute.

• Hyper Voice — with Liquid Voice this is a spread Water STAB that hits through Substitute; the core of the set.
• Moonblast — strong Fairy STAB and the better single-target option.
• Calm Mind — boost Special Attack and Special Defense to snowball with its already-great bulk.
• Protect — doubles staple for tempo and safety.

Trick Room / coverage

• Ice Beam — coverage for Dragons and Grass-types.
• Aqua Jet — priority to patch the low Speed outside Trick Room.
• Encore or Haze — disruption and stat-reset utility.

Competitive Role in Regulation M-A

Primarina is a bulky special attacker that doubles as a Trick Room win condition. A Liquid Voice Hyper Voice gives it reliable spread damage that ignores Substitute and protects allies behind it, while Moonblast and Ice Beam round out coverage against Dragons, Dark-types and Grass. Its standout trait is durability: 80/116 special bulk plus Calm Mind lets it win special slugfests and pivot through games rather than fold to a single hit.

Its low Speed is a double-edged sword — a liability under normal conditions but an asset under Trick Room, where Primarina becomes a fast, hard-to-KO nuke. Aqua Jet priority bridges the gap on non-Trick-Room teams. Pair it with Fake Out support and Trick Room setters to maximise its turns of pressure.

How to Get Primarina in Pokemon Champions

• Evolve Popplio — raise Popplio to Brionne at Level 17, then to Primarina at Level 34.
