Medicham in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Best Moveset, Mega & How to Get
Medicham is a deceptively powerful physical attacker in Pokemon Champions, thanks to the Pure Power ability that effectively doubles its Attack. Its Mega Evolution pushes that further with 100 base Attack and 100 Speed, hitting like a Pokemon far above its 510 BST. This guide covers Medicham's stats, type matchups, best moves, an SP spread, its role in Regulation M-A doubles, and how to get it.
Base Stats
Medicham's stats look unremarkable on paper, but Pure Power doubles its Attack, so its real damage output is enormous. Mega Medicham reaches 100 Attack (effectively ~200 with Pure Power) and 100 Speed while staying frail at 60 HP. The defenses (85/85 on the Mega) are passable but it lives and dies on offense.
| Form | HP | Atk | Def | SpA | SpD | Spe | BST |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Medicham | 60 | 60 | 75 | 60 | 75 | 80 | 410 |
| Mega Medicham | 60 | 100 | 85 | 80 | 85 | 100 | 510 |
Type Matchups
Abilities
- Pure Power (Medicham & Mega Medicham) — doubles the Pokemon's Attack stat. This is the entire reason to use Medicham; it turns an average 60–100 Attack into one of the highest effective physical attacks in the format.
- Telepathy (Medicham) — avoids damage from allies' spread moves, letting it stand beside an Earthquake or other spread attacker in doubles.
Best Moveset
Medicham is a Fighting/Psychic physical wallbreaker. Its sets revolve around STAB plus Fake Out tempo:
Mega physical attacker
- Close Combat — the hardest-hitting Fighting STAB, devastating off doubled Attack.
- Zen Headbutt or Psycho Cut — Psychic STAB with a flinch / crit edge.
- Fake Out — free flinch on turn one; superb doubles tempo and chip.
- Ice Punch, Thunder Punch or Fire Punch — elemental coverage for Flying, Water and Steel/Grass.
Setup / utility variant
- Bulk Up — boost an already-massive Attack and patch physical bulk.
- Drain Punch — STAB with recovery to offset its frailty.
- Protect — survive a turn and let a partner act.
- Power-Up Punch — chip and snowball Attack early.
Other tools include Trick Room support synergy, Rock Slide, Helping Hand, Taunt and Tera Blast.
Suggested SP Spread
With the Champions SP system (66 points, max 32 per stat), Mega Medicham wants Attack maxed (Pure Power makes every point count double), then Speed to outpace the 100-tier or HP to survive priority. A Speed- or Attack-boosting Stat Alignment that lowers its junk Special Attack is free value. Set the final numbers in the PikaChampions team builder.
Competitive Role in Regulation M-A
Mega Medicham is a pure wallbreaker. Pure Power makes its effective Attack one of the highest in the format, so Close Combat and the elemental punches tear through neutral and resisted targets alike — few walls survive a clean hit. Fake Out gives it doubles utility from turn one, chipping a threat and buying a partner a free turn, and Telepathy on the base form lets it pair with spread attackers safely. The catch is fragility: 60 HP means priority moves, Fake Out wars and faster attackers all threaten it, so it appreciates redirection or Tailwind support to fire off its huge hits. It is a premier offensive piece on Tailwind hyper-offense.
