Maushold in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Best Moveset & How to Get
Maushold is one of the premier support Pokemon in Pokemon Champions doubles, a fast Normal-type whose Friend Guard ability shields its partner from a quarter of all incoming damage. Add Follow Me redirection and a snappy 111 Speed, and it becomes the glue that lets a heavy hitter shine. This guide covers Maushold's stats, type matchups, abilities, best moveset, an SP spread, its doubles role, and how to get it.
Base Stats
Maushold's raw numbers are modest — a 470 BST spread of even bulk and weak offenses — but its 111 Speed is excellent, letting it fire off support moves before almost anything else on the field. It is not built to deal damage; its value is in speed, redirection and the team-wide damage reduction its ability provides. The Family-of-Three and Family-of-Four formes are cosmetic only and share identical Normal typing and stats.

Type Matchups
Abilities
- Friend Guard — reduces the damage its ally takes by 25% in doubles. This is the headline support ability and a big reason Maushold sees play: it passively makes a fragile partner far harder to KO.
- Cheek Pouch — restores extra HP whenever Maushold eats a berry, adding a touch of longevity.
- Technician — boosts moves of 60 base power or less by 50%, turning Maushold's signature multi-hit Population Bomb and other weak moves into respectable damage for an offensive variant.
Best Moveset
Maushold is a support specialist with an offensive option. For Regulation M-A doubles:
Friend Guard support
- Follow Me — redirects single-target attacks to Maushold, protecting a setup or attacking partner.
- Helping Hand — boosts the partner's next attack, stacking turns of support.
- Thunder Wave — spreads paralysis to slow and disrupt threats.
- Protect — doubles staple to scout and survive while the partner does work.
Technician utility
- Encore — locks an opponent into a non-threatening move, swinging the tempo.
- Taunt — shuts down setup, Trick Room and rival redirection.
- U-turn — Technician-boosted pivot move to swap into a better matchup.
Other notable tools include Hyper Voice, Crunch, Play Rough, Substitute and Tera Blast.
Suggested SP Spread
With the Champions SP system (66 points, max 32 per stat), a support Maushold wants HP and bulk to stay alive while it redirects and shields its partner, with a defensive Stat Alignment. Its 111 Speed rarely needs investment, freeing points for survivability. Tune the Level 50 numbers in the PikaChampions team builder.
Competitive Role in Regulation M-A
Maushold is a dedicated doubles support piece. Friend Guard quietly cuts a quarter off every hit its partner takes, which can be the difference between a key teammate surviving a focus-fire turn or fainting, while Follow Me forcibly draws attacks onto Maushold so a sweeper or Trick Room setter gets a free turn. Its high Speed means the redirection and Helping Hand land before the opponent moves, and Thunder Wave plus Encore give it tempo control on the side. It is a partner enabler rather than a threat itself — pair it with a fragile, high-value attacker and let Maushold keep that attacker on the field.
Evolution Line
Tandemaus → Maushold (Level 25). Maushold does not Mega Evolve; its Family-of-Three and Family-of-Four formes are purely cosmetic.
