Base Stats

Manectric is fast and offensively focused: 105 Special Attack and 105 Speed on the base form, both jumping to 135 on the Mega. Bulk is the weak point — 70 HP and only 60/60 defenses (80/80 on the Mega) — so it relies on speed and Intimidate rather than taking hits. The Mega is one of the fastest Mega Evolutions in the game.

Abilities

  • Lightning Rod (Manectric) — draws in all Electric-type moves and converts them into a Special Attack boost; superb in doubles for redirecting and absorbing Electric coverage aimed at partners.
  • Static (Manectric) — may paralyze attackers on contact.
  • Minus (Manectric) — boosts Special Attack with a Plus/Minus partner (niche).
  • Intimidate (Mega Manectric) — lowers both opponents' Attack by one stage on entry, immediately blunting physical offense. Combined with its speed this makes it a top-tier doubles pivot.

Best Moveset

Manectric is a fast Volt Switch pivot and Intimidate enabler. Its movepool is shallow but efficient:

Mega Intimidate pivot

  • Volt Switch — Electric STAB that pivots out while keeping momentum and re-triggering Intimidate next entry.
  • Thunderbolt — reliable single-target Electric STAB.
  • Flamethrower or Overheat — coverage for Grass and Steel types that wall Electric.
  • Protect — doubles staple to scout and stall.

Speed-control utility

  • Snarl — spread Special-Attack drop that supports the team defensively.
  • Thunder Wave — spread the paralysis for speed control.
  • Discharge — spread Electric STAB hitting both opponents (and your Lightning Rod partner safely).
  • Light Screen — fast screen support before pivoting out.

It also has Hyper Voice, Roar and Substitute as situational tools.

Suggested SP Spread

With the Champions SP system (66 points, max 32 per stat), Mega Manectric usually maxes Speed to stay ahead of the field, then loads Special Attack, with a Speed- or SpA-boosting Stat Alignment that lowers its unused physical Attack. A little HP helps it survive priority. Dial in the Level 50 numbers in the PikaChampions team builder.

Competitive Role in Regulation M-A

Mega Manectric is a speed-control pivot that does two jobs at once: its 135 Speed lets it move before almost anything, and Intimidate softens both opponents' physical attacks the moment it switches in. Volt Switch lets it chip, pivot, and re-apply Intimidate repeatedly, making it a relentless momentum engine for offensive teams. On the base form, Lightning Rod redirects Electric attacks away from a partner while boosting its own Special Attack, a strong defensive niche on rain or Electric-heavy cores. The downside is fragility — it can't switch into much directly — so it works best darting in on free turns and forcing the opponent to play around its Intimidate and Speed.

Evolution Line

Electrike → Manectric (Level 26). Manectric Mega Evolves by holding Manectite.
