Machamp in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Moveset & How to Get
Machamp is a classic slow, hard-hitting Fighting-type in Pokemon Champions. Its 130 Attack and low 55 Speed make it an ideal Trick Room attacker, and access to Wide Guard, Quick Guard and the accuracy-guaranteeing No Guard ability give it real utility on top of raw power. This guide covers its stats, matchups, best moveset, an SP spread and how to get it.
Base Stats
Machamp's 90/80/85 bulk lets it take a hit, and 130 Attack hits very hard. The 55 Speed is a liability in normal play but an asset under Trick Room, where it suddenly moves before most of the field.
| Form | HP | Atk | Def | SpA | SpD | Spe | BST |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Machamp | 90 | 130 | 80 | 65 | 85 | 55 | 505 |
Type Matchups
Abilities
- No Guard — every move used by or against Machamp always lands. This makes shaky-accuracy moves like Stone Edge and Dynamic Punch perfectly reliable.
- Guts — boosts Attack when statused, turning a burn or paralysis into extra power.
- Steadfast — Speed boost when flinched.
Best Moveset
Trick Room / No Guard attacker
- Close Combat — primary Fighting STAB (or No Guard Dynamic Punch for guaranteed confusion).
- Knock Off — removes items and hits Psychics/Ghosts.
- Ice Punch / Stone Edge — coverage (Stone Edge never misses with No Guard).
- Wide Guard or Protect — block spread moves for the team, or play safe.
It can also run Bulk Up, Quick Guard, Heavy Slam and Helping Hand.
Suggested SP Spread
With the SP system, a Trick Room Machamp wants Attack and HP with a bulky, Speed-lowering Stat Alignment (slower is better under Trick Room). Outside Trick Room, invest in bulk and lean on Wide Guard utility. Tune it in the team builder.
Competitive Role in Regulation M-A
Machamp shines on Trick Room teams, where its 130 Attack and Fighting STAB punch holes in the opposing side while it moves first. Even off Trick Room, Wide Guard protects partners from Earthquake, Rock Slide and other spread moves, and No Guard makes its coverage 100% reliable. It is a sturdy, supportive bruiser that fits both dedicated Trick Room cores and balance teams wanting a spread-move answer.
Evolution Line
Machop → Machoke → Machamp (via trade). Machamp does not Mega Evolve.
