Lopunny in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Mega & How to Get
Lopunny is a speedy Normal-type in Pokemon Champions whose competitive identity comes alive when it Mega Evolves. Mega Lopunny becomes Normal/Fighting with the Scrappy ability, 136 Attack and a blistering 135 Speed — a fast physical sweeper that ignores Ghost immunities. This guide covers both forms, plus stats, type matchups, best moves, an SP spread, its role in Regulation M-A doubles, and how to get it.
Base Stats
Base Lopunny is built around 105 Speed and solid 96 Special Defense, but its 76 Attack is mediocre. Mega Evolution is transformative: Attack jumps to 136 and Speed to 135, turning it into one of the fastest hard hitters available, while the defenses stay serviceable at 65/94/96. The Mega is clearly the intended competitive form.
| Form | HP | Atk | Def | SpA | SpD | Spe | BST |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lopunny | 65 | 76 | 84 | 54 | 96 | 105 | 480 |
| Mega Lopunny | 65 | 136 | 94 | 54 | 96 | 135 | 580 |
Type Matchups
Abilities
- Scrappy (Mega Lopunny) — lets Normal- and Fighting-type moves hit Ghost-types, so its STAB never bounces off a Ghost switch-in. This is the whole point of the Mega: spammable, unresisted offense.
- Limber (Lopunny) — immunity to paralysis; a small insurance policy on a fast Pokemon.
- Cute Charm (Lopunny) — chance to infatuate on contact; passive and unreliable in doubles.
- Klutz (Lopunny) — disables the holder's item; only relevant for niche item-trick gimmicks.
Best Moveset
Mega Lopunny is a fast, supportive attacker. For Regulation M-A doubles:
Fast Scrappy attacker
- Close Combat — high-power Fighting STAB that, with Scrappy, hits absolutely everything for at least neutral.
- Fake Out — flinch one opponent on entry, a premier doubles tempo tool; its high Speed makes it reliable.
- Ice Punch or Play Rough — coverage into the Flying, Dragon and Ground threats that wall Fighting.
- Protect — scout and stall while a partner does work.
Coverage and utility options
- Drain Punch — Fighting STAB with recovery for a longer game.
- Encore — lock an opponent into Protect or a setup move.
- Thunder Punch / Fire Punch — extra elemental coverage.
- Helping Hand or U-turn — support a partner or pivot out.
It can also run Power-Up Punch, Aura Sphere/Focus Blast on a niche special set, and Thunder Wave.
Suggested SP Spread
With the Champions SP system (66 points, max 32 per stat), Mega Lopunny maximises Attack and Speed with a Speed- or Attack-boosting Stat Alignment so it out-speeds the field and hits as hard as possible. With Speed already excellent, leftover points can shore up bulk. Dial in the Level 50 numbers in the team builder.
Competitive Role in Regulation M-A
Mega Lopunny is a fast, disruptive physical attacker. Fake Out on a 135-Speed body reliably opens turns by removing an opponent's action, and Scrappy Close Combat then threatens unresisted damage across the whole field — Ghost-types that normally wall Normal and Fighting offense get hit anyway. That combination of tempo control and clean coverage makes it an excellent offensive glue: it can break Fake Out wars, soften a target for a partner, or simply out-speed and click Close Combat. The cost is the Mega slot and a thin defensive profile, so it leans on speed control and redirection partners rather than tanking hits.
Evolution Line
