Kommo-o in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Best Moveset & How to Get

Kommo-o is the pseudo-legendary capstone of the Jangmo-o line and a genuinely bulky offensive Dragon/Fighting in Pokemon Champions. With 600 BST spread across strong attack on both sides, 125 Defense and twin defensive abilities, it can boost up and trade blows where flimsier Dragons can't. This guide covers Kommo-o's stats, type matchups, best moveset, an SP spread, its role in Regulation M-A doubles, and how to get it.

Base Stats

Kommo-o is unusually well-rounded for an offensive Dragon: 110 Attack and 100 Special Attack let it go physical, special or mixed, while 125 Defense and 105 Special Defense over 75 HP make it far harder to break than most setup sweepers. The 85 Speed is its only real shortcoming, so it usually leans on Dragon Dance, screens or speed control rather than raw pace.

Type Matchups

Weak to: Fairy Ice Flying Psychic Dragon
Resists: Fire Water Electric Grass Bug Rock Dark

Abilities

  • Bulletproof — blocks ball- and bomb-based moves entirely, including Sludge Bomb, Shadow Ball, Focus Blast and Aura Sphere. A strong matchup pick that can hard-wall certain special attackers.
  • Soundproof — immunity to sound moves such as Hyper Voice, Boomburst, Snarl and Disable; useful against spread-sound cores and Snarl spam.
  • Overcoat — protects from weather chip and powder/spore moves like Sleep Powder and Spore.

Best Moveset

Kommo-o's signature is the Clangorous setup play, but it can also function as a sturdy bulky attacker. The standout doubles options are:

Clangorous setup

  • Clanging Scales — its signature Dragon STAB; powerful, with a Defense drop after use.
  • Close Combat — hard-hitting Fighting STAB to complete the offensive duo.
  • Dragon Dance — boosts Attack and Speed to fix its Speed and snowball.
  • Protect — set up safely behind a partner and stall disruption turns.

Bulky mixed attacker

  • Bulk Up or Iron Defense — lean into its excellent physical bulk.
  • Drain Punch — STAB with recovery for a sustain-oriented set.
  • Aura Sphere / Flash Cannon / Flamethrower — special coverage off its 100 Special Attack.
  • Stealth Rock or Taunt — utility on a more supportive build.

It also has Outrage, Draco Meteor, Earthquake, Ice Punch, Thunder Punch, Swords Dance and Tera Blast.

Suggested SP Spread

With the Champions SP system (66 points, max 32 per stat), a Dragon Dance set wants Attack and Speed with an offensive Stat Alignment, while a bulky Bulk Up build pours points into HP and its already-great defenses. Mixed sets can split into both attacking stats since Kommo-o uses both. Settle on the final Level 50 numbers in the PikaChampions team builder.

Competitive Role in Regulation M-A

Kommo-o's niche is a setup sweeper that can actually take a hit. Most Dragon Dance users fold to priority and chip; Kommo-o's 125 Defense and twin immunity abilities let it boost in situations others can't, and Bulletproof or Soundproof can be picked to hard-counter specific special threats — blanking a Shadow Ball or a spread Hyper Voice is a real edge in doubles. Behind a Protect or screens it sets up and then cleans with Clanging Scales and Close Combat. Its weaknesses are the obvious Dragon/Fighting set (Fairy, Flying, Psychic, Dragon, Ice all bite), and an 85 Speed that wants Tailwind or a Dragon Dance turn to come online, so it pairs best with redirection and speed control.

Evolution Line

Jangmo-o → Hakamo-o (Level 35) → Kommo-o (Level 45). Kommo-o does not Mega Evolve.
