Klefki in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Best Moveset & How to Get
Klefki is a pure support pivot in Pokemon Champions, valued almost entirely for its Prankster ability and its excellent Steel/Fairy defensive typing. It does not hit hard, but it sets the table — priority screens, Thunder Wave and Trick Room make it one of the format's most efficient enablers. This guide covers Klefki's stats, type matchups, best moveset, an SP spread, its doubles role and how to get it.
Base Stats
Klefki's stats are modest across the board — 57 HP with 91 Defense and 87 Special Defense gives it serviceable two-sided bulk, but 80/80 offenses and 75 Speed mean it will rarely be the one dealing damage. The point of Klefki is its 470 BST spread sitting behind Prankster, which makes its actual Speed nearly irrelevant for support moves.
| Form | HP | Atk | Def | SpA | SpD | Spe | BST |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Klefki | 57 | 80 | 91 | 80 | 87 | 75 | 470 |
Type Matchups
Abilities
- Prankster — gives +1 priority to status moves. This is the entire reason to run Klefki: Reflect, Light Screen, Thunder Wave and Trick Room all go before the opponent acts, which is enormously valuable in doubles. Note that Prankster status moves do not affect Dark-types.
- Magician — steals the held item of a target it hits with a move. A niche disruption option compared to Prankster's reliability.
Best Moveset
Prankster dual screens
- Reflect + Light Screen — priority screens to blunt incoming damage for your offensive core.
- Thunder Wave — priority paralysis to cripple a fast threat or enable slower partners.
- Spikes or Foul Play — entry hazard chip or a damage option that scales off the attacker's Attack.
Prankster Trick Room support
- Trick Room — set the room with priority so your slow attackers move first immediately.
- Dazzling Gleam — spread Fairy STAB that chips both opponents in doubles.
- Protect — keep Klefki alive a turn longer to re-set screens or the room.
Other tools include Calm Mind with Stored Power for a cheeky setup line, Flash Cannon and Play Rough for STAB, Defog, Iron Defense and Tera Blast.
Suggested SP Spread
With the Champions SP system (66 points, max 32 per stat), Klefki wants bulk so it survives long enough to keep its screens and status up: pour points into HP and one defensive stat, with a defensive Stat Alignment. Speed investment is largely wasted because Prankster handles the priority. Dial in the exact Level 50 numbers in the team builder.
Competitive Role in Regulation M-A
Klefki is the format's premier Prankster utility piece. It exists to enable a team rather than to win games itself: priority Reflect and Light Screen swing damage math heavily in your favour, priority Thunder Wave neutralises a fast threat before it moves, and priority Trick Room flips the speed tiers for a slow offensive core. Steel/Fairy is a genuinely good defensive typing, resisting a long list of common attacks and giving it free switch-ins to set support up. Its weaknesses are predictable — be wary of Dark-types that ignore Prankster status, and of the Fire and Ground attacks it cannot stomach — but on the right team Klefki provides support no other Pokemon delivers as cheaply.
Evolution Line
Klefki does not evolve and has no pre-evolution. It does not Mega Evolve.
