Gardevoir in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Best Moveset, Mega & How to Get
Gardevoir is a premier special attacker in Pokemon Champions, pairing a Psychic/Fairy STAB combination with 125 Special Attack and useful support tools. Its Mega Evolution swaps in the Pixilate ability and a colossal 165 Special Attack, turning Hyper Voice into a spread-hitting nuke. This guide covers Gardevoir's stats, type matchups, best moves, an SP spread, its role in Regulation M-A doubles, and how to get it.
Base Stats
Gardevoir is a glass-cannon special attacker: 125 Special Attack and 115 Special Defense, but a fragile 68 HP and 65 Defense. The base 80 Speed is middling, which is why it leans on Tailwind or Trick Room support. Mega Gardevoir pushes Special Attack to 165 and Speed to 100 while bumping both defenses, but it stays physically frail.
| Form | HP | Atk | Def | SpA | SpD | Spe | BST |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gardevoir | 68 | 65 | 65 | 125 | 115 | 80 | 518 |
| Mega Gardevoir | 68 | 85 | 65 | 165 | 135 | 100 | 618 |
Type Matchups
Abilities
- Synchronize (Gardevoir) — passes burn, poison or paralysis back to whatever inflicted it.
- Trace (Gardevoir) — copies an opposing Pokemon's ability on entry; can steal Intimidate, Drought and other useful traits.
- Telepathy (Gardevoir) — dodges damage from allies' spread moves, handy in doubles next to an Earthquake or Hyper Voice partner.
- Pixilate (Mega Gardevoir) — turns Normal-type moves into Fairy-type and boosts their power, so Hyper Voice becomes a strong Fairy spread attack with STAB.
Best Moveset
Gardevoir's special movepool is broad, and the Mega changes how you build it. The two main directions:
Mega Pixilate attacker
- Hyper Voice — Pixilate turns this into a STAB Fairy spread move hitting both opponents; the core reason to Mega Evolve.
- Psychic or Psyshock — Psychic STAB; Psyshock targets physical walls.
- Protect — doubles staple for surviving a turn and scouting.
- Focus Blast or Shadow Ball — coverage for Steel and Poison types that resist the STABs.
Trick Room / support set
- Trick Room — its frail Speed becomes an asset under the room.
- Moonblast + Psychic — reliable Fairy and Psychic STAB without needing Pixilate.
- Calm Mind — snowball special bulk and power.
- Helping Hand or Imprison-style support tools to back a partner.
Other useful options include Dazzling Gleam, Thunderbolt, Energy Ball, Encore, Taunt, Will-O-Wisp, Thunder Wave and Tera Blast.
Suggested SP Spread
With the Champions SP system (66 points, max 32 per stat), Gardevoir wants Special Attack maxed first, then a choice of Speed (for Tailwind builds) or bulk (for Trick Room). A Special-Attack- or Speed-boosting Stat Alignment that lowers its unused physical Attack costs it nothing. Dial in the exact Level 50 numbers in the PikaChampions team builder.
Competitive Role in Regulation M-A
Gardevoir is one of the format's hardest-hitting special attackers, and Mega Gardevoir's Pixilate Hyper Voice is a defining spread threat — it pressures both opponents at once and ignores Protect on only one target at a cost. The trade-off is fragility: 68/65 physical bulk means a single priority hit or Fake Out plus follow-up can remove it, so it relies on redirection (Follow Me), screens, or Trick Room/Tailwind to click safely. On the base form, Trace gives flexible utility, while Telepathy lets it stand next to spread attackers without friendly fire. It slots into Tailwind hyper-offense and Trick Room teams alike as the win condition.
Evolution Line
Ralts → Kirlia (Level 20) → Gardevoir (Level 30). Gardevoir Mega Evolves by holding Gardevoirite. (Kirlia can alternatively evolve into Gallade with a Dawn Stone.)
