Gallade in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Best Moveset, Mega & How to Get
Gallade is the physical Psychic/Fighting counterpart to Gardevoir in Pokemon Champions, wielding a 125 Attack and the slicing Sharpness ability. Its Mega Evolution pushes Attack to a monstrous 165 and Speed to 110, making it one of the format's scariest physical sweepers. This guide covers both forms, plus stats, matchups, best moveset, an SP spread, and how to get it.
Base Stats
Base Gallade pairs 125 Attack with an excellent 115 Special Defense and only middling 65 Defense and 80 Speed. Mega Gallade keeps that 115 Special Defense and jumps to 165 Attack, 95 Defense and 110 Speed — a huge all-round upgrade that turns it into a fast, bulky-on-the-special-side physical threat. Both forms share the same Psychic/Fighting typing, so the matchups below apply to the Mega as well.
| Form | HP | Atk | Def | SpA | SpD | Spe | BST |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gallade | 68 | 125 | 65 | 65 | 115 | 80 | 518 |
| Mega Gallade | 68 | 165 | 95 | 65 | 115 | 110 | 618 |
Type Matchups
Abilities
- Sharpness (Gallade) — boosts slicing moves like Psycho Cut, Sacred Sword, Air Slash and Leaf Blade by 50%. This is the build-around ability that makes the base form hit far above its 125 Attack.
- Steadfast (Gallade) — raises Speed when flinched; minor utility.
- Justified (Gallade) — raises Attack when hit by a Dark move; situational.
- Inner Focus (Mega Gallade) — prevents flinching and blocks Intimidate's Attack drop, protecting Mega Gallade's all-important Attack from being lowered.
Best Moveset
Gallade is a physical Fighting/Psychic attacker. Note that the Mega loses Sharpness for Inner Focus, so slicing moves are strongest on the base form; the Mega simply hits harder by raw Attack. For Regulation M-A doubles:
Mega sweeper
- Close Combat — powerful Fighting STAB; the Mega's main damage button.
- Psycho Cut — Psychic STAB, boosted by Sharpness on the base form before Mega Evolving.
- Swords Dance — +2 Attack turns Mega Gallade into a nuke that few things survive.
- Protect — doubles staple; bank a turn and Mega Evolve safely.
Coverage & utility
- Knock Off — remove items and hit Ghost-types that wall Fighting.
- Wide Guard / Quick Guard — block spread moves or priority for the team.
- Trick Room — a slow-team option that exploits base Gallade's 80 Speed.
It also carries Drain Punch, Sacred Sword-class slicing moves, Ice Punch, Thunder Punch, Helping Hand and Tera Blast.
Suggested SP Spread
With the Champions SP system (66 points, max 32 per stat), Mega Gallade wants maximum Attack and Speed to make the most of its 165/110 offensive profile, with an Attack- or Speed-boosting Stat Alignment. Its 115 Special Defense already lets it survive special hits without investment. Tune the final numbers in the PikaChampions team builder.
Competitive Role in Regulation M-A
Gallade is a premier physical sweeper, especially once it Mega Evolves. The base form abuses Sharpness to throw out boosted slicing moves while sitting behind a sturdy 115 Special Defense, and Swords Dance turns either form into a clean win condition. Mega Gallade trades Sharpness for Inner Focus and raw stats — 165 Attack and 110 Speed mean it outpaces and overpowers most of the field, and Inner Focus makes it immune to the Intimidate and flinch tactics that try to neuter physical attackers. Its Psychic/Fighting typing is exploited by Flying, Ghost and Fairy coverage, so partners that pressure those types let Gallade clean up freely.
Evolution Line
Ralts → Kirlia → Gallade (use a Dawn Stone on a male Kirlia). Gallade Mega Evolves by holding Galladite.
