Camerupt in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Best Moveset, Mega & How to Get
Camerupt is a slow, hard-hitting Fire/Ground attacker in Pokemon Champions that is at its best under Trick Room. Its Mega Evolution turns Sheer Force loose on a monstrous 145 Special Attack, while a rock-bottom 20 Speed means it almost always moves first inside the room. This guide covers Camerupt's stats, type matchups, best moves, an SP spread, its role in Regulation M-A doubles, and how to get it.
Base Stats
Base Camerupt already hits hard with 105 Special Attack but is held back by frail 70/70/75 bulk and 40 Speed. Mega Camerupt jumps to 145 Special Attack with sturdier 100/105 defenses, and its Speed actually drops to 20 — which is a feature, not a flaw, since it wants to be the slowest thing on the field under Trick Room.
| Form | HP | Atk | Def | SpA | SpD | Spe | BST |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Camerupt | 70 | 100 | 70 | 105 | 75 | 40 | 460 |
| Mega Camerupt | 70 | 120 | 100 | 145 | 105 | 20 | 560 |
Type Matchups
Abilities
- Magma Armor (Camerupt) — prevents freezing. Niche.
- Solid Rock (Camerupt) — reduces the damage of super-effective hits by a quarter, softening Camerupt's many weaknesses on the base form.
- Anger Point (Camerupt) — maxes Attack when hit by a critical hit. Situational and largely irrelevant for a special attacker.
- Sheer Force (Mega Camerupt) — boosts moves with secondary effects by 30% and removes the side effect. Earth Power, Heat Wave and Flamethrower all get the boost, making the Mega hit absurdly hard.
Best Moveset
Mega Trick Room nuke
- Earth Power — Ground STAB, Sheer Force-boosted, hits the partner-free single target hard and never misses.
- Heat Wave — spread Fire STAB that pressures both opponents, ideal for doubles.
- Flamethrower or Eruption — single-target Fire STAB; Eruption is devastating at full HP but falls off as Camerupt takes damage.
- Protect — buys a turn and lets Camerupt survive while a partner sets Trick Room.
Other useful tools include Stone Edge / Rock Slide for spread Rock coverage, Will-O-Wisp and Yawn for disruption, Stealth Rock on a utility set, and Tera Blast.
Suggested SP Spread
With the Champions SP system (66 points, max 32 per stat), Mega Camerupt is almost pure offense: load Special Attack to its cap and dump the rest into HP for Trick Room longevity, with a Special Attack-boosting Stat Alignment. Avoid any Speed investment — staying slow keeps it moving first under Trick Room. Tune the numbers in the team builder.
Competitive Role in Regulation M-A
Mega Camerupt is a dedicated Trick Room wallbreaker. Sheer Force plus 145 Special Attack and STAB on both Fire and Ground gives it some of the highest raw special damage in the format, and its near-immobile 20 Speed makes it move first under Trick Room against almost anything. The cost is fragility outside the room and a brutal 4× Water weakness, so it needs a reliable Trick Room setter and redirection or screens to live long enough to fire off its nukes. On the right team it deletes a Pokemon per turn.
Evolution Line
Numel → Camerupt (Level 33). Camerupt Mega Evolves by holding Cameruptite.
