Ariados in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Moveset & How to Get
Ariados is a slow Bug/Poison disruptor in Pokemon Champions with a niche, support-leaning toolkit: Toxic Spikes, priority in Sucker Punch and Shadow Sneak, and a low Speed that makes it a candidate for Trick Room. It is not a meta staple, but it has tools that reward creative team-building. This guide covers its stats, matchups, best moveset, an SP spread and how to get it.
Base Stats
Ariados has 90 Attack and only 40 Speed on a frail 70/70/70 frame. Its low Speed means it either leans on priority moves or operates under Trick Room, where its respectable Attack can do work.
| Form | HP | Atk | Def | SpA | SpD | Spe | BST |

| Ariados | 70 | 90 | 70 | 60 | 70 | 40 | 400 |
Type Matchups
Abilities
- Insomnia — immunity to sleep, useful against Spore and Hypnosis leads.
- Swarm — boosts Bug moves at low HP.
- Sniper — boosts critical-hit damage.
Best Moveset
Disruptor / priority attacker
- Toxic Spikes — poison the opposing side on switch-in.
- Sucker Punch / Shadow Sneak — priority to pick off weakened or fragile threats.
- Sludge Bomb — Poison STAB.
- Protect or Knock Off — safety or item removal.
It can also run Swords Dance, Leech Life and Foul Play.
Suggested SP Spread
With the SP system, a Trick Room Ariados wants Attack and bulk with a slow Stat Alignment; otherwise lean on its priority moves and Toxic Spikes. Tune it in the team builder.
Competitive Role in Regulation M-A
Ariados is a niche disruptor. Insomnia makes it a sleep-proof lead, Toxic Spikes wears down the opposing side, and its priority moves let it chip even at low Speed. It is outclassed by stronger attackers, but as a budget Trick Room body or anti-sleep tech it has a defined role on creative teams.
Evolution Line
Spinarak → Ariados (Level 22). Ariados does not Mega Evolve.
